You've ripped my heart out

Sounds like a cliché, but you've just done that
unscrupulously

Friday, 15 May 2009

I look into your eyes and I see something you are trying to disguise You try to run away, you try and still you stay You are confused I am amused You are amused I am confused Time goes by And nothing ever happens Everything's exactly as it was 4 years ago

Christmas in Killarney - GREAT SONG

The holly green, the ivy green
The prettiest picture you've ever seen
Is Christmas in Killarney
With all of the folks at home
It's nice, you know, to kiss your beau
While cuddling under the mistletoe
And Santa Claus you know, of course
Is one of the boys from home
The door is always open
The neighbors pay a call
And Father John before he's gone
Will bless the house and all
How grand it feels to click your heels
And join in the fun of the jigs and reels
I'm handing you no blarney
The likes you've never known
Is Christmas in Killarney
With all of the folks at home

Black Cloud - Morrissey

The one I love
is standing near
the one I love
is everywhere
I can woo you
I can amuse you
but there is nothing I can do
to make you mine
black cloud, black cloud
The one I love
roosts in the mind
can snap this spell
or, increase hell
I can chase you
and I can catch you
but there is nothing I can do
to make you mine
black cloud, black cloud
oh, black cloud
oh, black cloud
I play the game
of Favorites now
I can I must I will I do
I can please you
or, I can freeze you out
but there is nothing I can do
to make you mine
Black cloud, black cloud, black cloud
I can choke myself to please you
and I can sink much lower than usual
but there's nothing I can do
to make you mine

Dormant Intimacy

It's a poem in the making - a draft - I know what feelings I need to express but it's not the best of days...see it evolve the next few days...does it exist the live writing of poetry (if so it may be called) on the net?
A long gone sundry afternoon
The utterance of heart-felt words
Regret amounted very soon
A sentiment denied hurts
This vessel on the verge of an emotional sail
Your words typical were of no avail
Your eyes clearly embodied lies
Your kindness at war with regret
Regret at war with fear
Occasionally you would be very near
More often you would steer clear
Unexpectedly I would find you avoiding me
Hope against hope
At war with each other
But more so with ourselves
Today we steer clear
We avoid coming near
Life's delicacies are denied to us by ourselves
Sympathies have been boxed and
Put on shelves
An intimacy cursed to lie dormant ever more
The chance for it to waken
Lies in our hands only, like before
But the boxes are covered in dust
As is the long-gone feeling of trust
Perchance the chance for it to waken
Needs now truly be forsaken?

Dr. Rachendra Pachauri: Less meat, less heat

Now more than ever am I proud to be a vegetarian. People have scorned, laughed, misunderstood, made stupid remarks from day 1 I decided to give up meat. Even more so when we decided to raise our children on a meat-free diet ('surely we weren't good parents, denying our children vital nutrients'...the nerve of some (uninformed = ignorant) people.

I went to a lecture this evening of Dr. Rachendra Pachauri, nobel prize winner of peace for his work on climate change together with Al Gore in 2007. I knew there was a connection between meat-production, world hunger and climate problems, but I did not realise the impact of the meat-industry to be that big. There were eye opening comparisons, like when everyone in Flanders would eat no meat on only one day a week, we would reduce greenhouse gasses by one milion ton - which is the same as taking 500 000 cars off the road!!!
It seems that if we would all seriously reduce our amount of meat, we would be contributing greatly to the sollution of the climate problem...if...and if politics would include it in their policy...but ignorance as I said...still so proud to be a vegetarian ever more.

I Will Stay Restless

A very old song I once wrote a very long time ago to a very old friend who disappeared out of my life...I can't even remember the chords anymore...
She'll know who she is - she's the only real friend I ever had - I was 17 and we were soulmates, minds alike...you chose the bumpy, arty road and I became stuck due to circumstances...this is a song of regret...

I will stay restless
Untill the day that I hear
That you still care
I will not sleep tight
Until you, my friend
Prove you are still there

I won't breathe
I won't eat until I am sure
That there is a good reason
For this scaring silence
Until you, my friend,
Prove you are still there

Isn't it strange
How much people can change
Are you the same or
Has there come a world
Between us?

I will stay restless
Until the moment I hear
That you still care
Until you, my friend
Prove you are still there
